United we stand, divided we fall.” The principle is a Biblical one, for in Mark 3:24 we read, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.”

Liberty or Death Coloring Page

Then we have Patrick Henry’s soul-stirring words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”

This one brings to mind Deuteronomy 30:19, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”

In God We Trust Coloring Page

Next, we have the official motto of the United States:

That one’s reminiscent of the verse Psalm 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD…

Liberty and Virtue Coloring Page

We also have Daniel Webster’s insightful quote about liberty and virtue:

That’s an important connection. It explains why God commands us not to use our liberty for selfish pursuits, but to serve one another. (Galatians 5:13)

One Life to Lose Coloring Page

Here’s a famous quote from American patriot Nathan Hale that indicates how fiercely he believed in our nation’s fight for independence.

This is a sobering reminder that “one life” is all any of us have (see Hebrews 9:27), so we need to make it count (see Psalms 90:12).

Preserved through Vigilance Coloring Page

Next, a reminder of our need to vigilantly guard our liberties if we wish to preserve them:

What You Can Do Coloring Page

And last is the advice John F. Kennedy made famous. “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”:

This, again, echoes a command found in Philippians 2:3-4. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
