This website is my husband’s brainchild. Several years ago, he noticed that we were spending a lot of time answering the same basic questions over and over again — questions about homeschooling, child training, organization, and saving money. Although building this site was initially very time-consuming, he suspected it would be a huge time-saver in the long run.

He was right. Our website has enabled us to answer once and for all, online, all those common questions folks tend to ask our family. Now when we encounter such inquiries, we can respond briefly and refer them to our website for more details. Also, whenever we receive new questions that we think may be of interest to other readers, we publish our answers. (All comments and questions submitted through this website are not immediately published nor visible to any other users until they’ve been approved by us, so whenever the subject matter is of a sensitive nature, we take care to protect the privacy of the person who submitted it).

While we do not claim to be experts in any of these areas, we are happy to share with others the things we’ve learned over the years about growing a large, loving family; tips that keep our household running smoothly and efficiently; and practices that have help us stay focused and work purposefully, but also enjoy life and make great memories.

Our family loves to read and discuss good books, so we decided to also include reviews of new titles as we finish them. Although we occasionally receive books as gifts or win copies in giveaways, the vast majority of titles we read and review are chosen and purchased by us (often in multiple copies, as our older children plan to take their favorites with them when they leave home). Either way, the opinions we express are entirely our own honest evaluations.

Sometimes we include affiliate links in our posts for products we personally use, like, and/or believe would be helpful for our readers. When you click through and purchase products that we’ve recommended via these affiliate links, our family earns a small referral fee, which helps to cover the costs of keeping this website up and running. We also display ads in our sidebars which are served by the BlogHer ad network. We’re hoping that revenue generated from both these practices may (eventually) help offset the expense of all those books we purchase through Amazon!
