Let’s kick off the first “Scripture Sunday” of the year with a Chariots and Horses Coloring Page that features Psalm 20:7.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

This passage provides a good reminder as to where true strength lies. It lies with the LORD. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Remember what Moses said to the Israelites when they felt hopelessly trapped between Pharaoh’s powerful army and the Red Sea? He told them, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” (Exodus 14:13-14)

Then, when Moses had finished speaking, the LORD parted the Red Sea, and the children of Israel crossed over on dry ground. God did what human effort alone could never accomplish. But He did more than preserve the lives of His chosen people; He gave them an amazing testimony that is still being recounted today.

Are you facing a seemingly impossible situation? Remember the LORD is sovereign. Is there anything too difficult for Him? (Jeremiah 32:27) “For with God, nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)

So cast your cares fully on Christ. Continue in prayer. I am convinced there is no stronger position from which to do battle than on your knees. “Perhaps the LORD will work on our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.” (1 Samuel 14:6)

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and abandon wrath; do not fret— it can only bring harm. For the evildoers will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.” (Psalm 37:7-9)

Keep your eyes fixed upon the LORD. Be still and watch His deliverance. Then join with Moses and the children of Israel in their song of praise: “I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.” (Exodus 15:1-2)
