Chocolate-Banana Cancer-Fighting Smoothie

Since my breast cancer diagnosis in 2024, my diet has undergone a complete overhaul. Now it regularly includes such staples as my colorful rainbow salad, garlicky lentils, crispy Brussels sprouts, spicy greens with mushrooms, and — for breakfast at least 2-3 times a week — this thick, creamy, and delicious chocolate-banana cancer-fighting smoothie.
Full of delicious, natural ingredients that have proven beneficial, both for fighting and preventing cancer, as can be seen in the following articles:

Chocolate Banana Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 Tablespoon natural almond butter
- 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- dash of cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons ground flaxseed

Instructions:
Place frozen bananas (sliced) into a blender and cover with enough soy milk to give your smoothie the desired thickness. Use less milk if you prefer to eat it with a spoon like ice cream, more if you want to sip it through a straw.

Add a heaping tablespoon of almond butter and cocoa and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Alternatively, you can toss in a handful of nuts, which is what I do whenever we are out of nut butter.

Put lid on your blender and mix until smooth. I use our Vitamix when making a double or triple batch to share with the family. Otherwise, I blend it in a Magic Bullet.

Top the smoothie with ground flaxseed. You can blend the ground flax up with all the other ingredients if you prefer… ,

…but I usually just eat it on top with a spoon instead of drinking it through a straw, since it tends to stick and makes the straw (and the inside of the blender container) harder to clean.

I once read that eating ice cream for breakfast boosts brain power and improves focus, and this chocolate banana smoothie provides a healthful alternative.

Not only is it creamy and delicious, but it is good for much more than just your brain! I’ve been enjoying this treat for many months and yet to tire of it.
