An Irish Blessing (Free Coloring Page)
Since St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, I thought I’d share with you an Irish blessing for this week’s “Scripture Sunday” coloring page:
Although this prayer is not found in the Bible, it is very scriptural. Click on the links after each line of the poem to view related verses:
An Irish Blessing
May there always be work for your hands to do. (Psalm 90:17; 1 Thessalonians 4:11)
May your purse always hold a coin or two. (Philippians 4:19; Proverbs 30:8-9)May the sun always shine on your windowpane. (John 12:46; Proverbs 4:18; Matthew 5:16)
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain. (Genesis 9:13-16; Ezekiel 1:28)May the hand of a friend always be near you. (Proverbs 18:24; Ecclesiastes 4:9-11; Deuteronomy 31:6)
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. (Psalm 126:2-3; Jeremiah 31:13)
It also reminds me just a little of this blessing, recorded in the book of Numbers:
The LORD bless you, and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance on you,
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
Either way, these are my prayers for you, dear reader. These, and that if you don’t already know Jesus, you will place your faith and trust in Him today and receive the gift He freely offers — forgiveness of sin and eternal life with Him.
