Code Lock (& More Great Games from Fun Squared)

Code Lock

Our family has had a blast playing Code Lock. It’s a quick-thinking game from the folks at Fun Squared. But don’t worry. Although It is obviously a numbers game, you do not need to be particularly good at math to play — and win!

It’s very fast-paced, with everybody racing one another to see who can be first to break the code — that is, to get all their numbers placed in the correct position according to the cues.

Code Lock

First one to solve the puzzle gets 10 points. But be careful! If you yell “Locked” before you’re certain you’ve placed all your cards correctly, you’ll lose 10 points, instead. And the other players will get 1 point for each of the number cards they’ve placed in its proper position before their game board was locked.

We’ve enjoyed all the fun-squared games we’ve played, but as someone who’s always loved working with numbers, Code Lock is my personal favorite!

More Great Games by Fun Squared:

1. Prime Suspect Deluxe

Another game our family’s had a great time playing together is Prime Suspect Deluxe. Players must decipher the clues to place suspects on the board, competing to see who can identify the prime culprit first.

Prime Suspect puts a fresh spin on those classic old logic puzzles about what neighbor lives in which house. I always enjoyed solving that kind of brain teaser as a kid myself, and I’ve used similar puzzles in my homeschooling to strengthen my children’s critical thinking skills, as well.

I’m so glad the Fun Squared creators have turned this concept into such a lively and engaging game!

2. Tile Tango

Fun Squared - Tile Tango

Tile Tango is based on such a simple concept — just make your color and pattern cards match the pattern pictured — but it is surprisingly challenging.

I appreciate the fact it offers three levels of play. And it’s nice that you can play Tile Tango alone or in a group, as well. It’s fun and doable for a wide range of ages.

3. Flipingo

My big kids had fun playing Flipingo, but it’s especially well-suited for beginning readers. So we’re all looking forward to teaching the grandkids this game.

I suspect they’ll have so much fun playing Flipingo, they won’t even realize they’re simultaneously honing their cognitive skills — as is the case with all the other Fun Squared games we’ve been enjoying as a family!
