“The night is nearly over; the day has drawn near. So let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
This passage brings two other verses to mind. The first is is Hebrews 10:24-25, “and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.“
And the second is Hebrews 12:1-2, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”
Those are all good verses to keep in mind, aren’t they? For the day does seem to be drawing near, and we don’t want to be encumbered by extra weight or hidden sin, or lose our focus.
