My Big Wimmelbook: My First 100 Words Review

Timberdoodle recently sent me a copy of My Big Wimmelbook: My First 100 Words to review with my grandkids.

So my daughter, Abby, and I took it with us when we went to babysit two of the grandkids last weekend. They loved it!

The large, board back format means sturdy, durable pages that are perfect for little hands. Even the youngest one could flip through the book himself.

And each 2-page spread is so rich and colorful with detailed illustrations of a dozen or more clearly labeled items in the right hand margin.

And each of the drawings in the sidebar makes an appearance in the large landscape illustration, as well. So “reading” the book becomes an engaging game of “I Spy.”

I was amazed by how quickly even the baby could locate each of the items in the scene as Abby read their names, one by one.

He seemed very proud of himself, and loved the encouragement and praise he received from us every time he correctly located an item.

My Big Wimmelbook: My First 100 Words did a great job keeping both little boys engaged. They were good about taking turns in pointing out the correct item whenever we asked where something was.

Do you have a child (or grandchild, niece or nephew) who’d enjoy looking through My Big Wimmelbook: My First 100 Words? If so, I’d highly recommend you check it out. It’s available from Timberdoodle for individual purchase or as part of their 2026 Tiny Tots Curriculum Kit.

And while you’re on the Timberdoodle website, I’d encourage you to look around. We love everything we’ve ever ordered from this small family-owned company!
