The 50 States Bucket List Bottle

50 States Bucket List Bottle

Timberdoodle recently sent my family a 50 States Bucket LIst Bottle to review. My daughter Abby is the one to whom we gifted the bottle. The verdict? She loves it!

The bottle comes in your choice of two colors: cream or sage. The sage (Abby’s favorite) is pictured above. The kit comes with a set of colorful vinyl (read: dishwasher safe) stickers, as well.

Another bonus included with the kit is access to Timberdoodle’s USA Reading Challenge eBook.

This 111-page book includes a US map to track reading progress, a reading log, colorful bookmarks kids can print and cut out to hold their place, and more.

Best of all, it includes an extensive reading list for every state, divided into selections for toddlers and preschoolers, grade schoolers, and teens and adults. Here is a very small sample from my own home state of Texas.

As you can see, it is just a listing. You don’t get any information beyond title and author. But it is a place to start when you visit the library.

And this is just a very small excerpt that I screen-shot. The Texas entry alone stretches on to three full-size, 8.5 x 11 pages. You can follow this link to download a longer sample: Read across the USA

There are so many different ways you can use this bucket list water bottle. You can add the appropriate sticker as soon as you…

  • Read a book that is set in the state
  • Drive through the state on a family road trip
  • Explore a national park, museum, or memorial in the state
  • Visit the state capitol building

The USA Reading Challenge eBook helps make the first option fast and doable — no lengthy road trips necessary.

But for families who love to travel (like ours), the second option may be appealing. Abby started by adding stickers to all the states she’s already set foot in, and we are making plans to visit the remaining states as soon as possible — though it will probably be next year before she can affix the last few stickers to her new water bottle. What a fun memento from our family travels!
