Good Neighbor Conversation Starters
Today I’m sharing these Good Neighbor Conversation Starters, another in our series of dinnertime discussion prompts.
This set of questions all center on the theme of being a good neighbor:
- Have you ever befriended someone with whom you have little in common? Explain.
- If we had to move to another town, which neighbors would you miss most? Why?
- Share a positive trait about each of the neighbors that surround you.
- Put yourself in the shoes of your grouchiest neighbor. What makes him or her so grumpy?
- What positive changes can you make to be a better neighbor?

Okay, this wasn’t quite what I was expecting as ‘good neighbour conversations starters.’ I thought it would be ways to start up good conversations with your neighbours (especially those that don’t know the love of our Lord and Saviour.) I have a friend who is having difficulty with a neighbour. He can’t let the issue go. I tried to remind him that he should be putting his passion and energy into praying for them and himself. He should be looking for ways to start GOOD conversations about the gospel. He should be looking to keep the relationship open rather than being divided by one issue. I might have to make him up some cards of his own!
Yes, most of my conversation starters center on different topics meant to be discussed with family members around the dinner table — this set of questions being about neighbors. I have a post on my other blog with suggestions for different ways of reaching out to the neighbors around you.
