Our free printable What Manner of Love coloring page is taken from 1 John 3:1, in honor of Father’s Day: “Behold, what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the children of God.
Some say that children view God in the same way they view their dad. Perhaps that is true. My earthly father was wise, benevolent, and completely trustworthy, so it has never been difficult for me to trust implicitly in the wisdom, goodness, and faithfulness of my Heavenly Father.
He is a good, good Father
Even Jesus drew a similar comparison. In Matthew 7:11, He states,
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
God is good, and He loves you dearly. This is true, whether your earthly father accurately reflected God’s character or not. Even children whose dads are/were absentee or abusive can take hope in this fact. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
