The Artza Subscription Box: Experience Israel by Mail

I recently tried out the Artza subscription box and was thrilled with both the contents and the concept. As somebody who has always longed to visit the Holy Land but have not yet been able to do so, I was delighted that Artza has found a way to bring a little of the Holy Land experience right to your own doorstep. I especially loved this “Jesus Trail” box, as it features gifts from all around Galilee, including a scratch-off map that highlights many key places we read about in scripture. It’s perfect for families to explore together using the enclosed booklet to learn more about each site.

The box was also cram-packed with lovely gifts from the region — food and snacks, artisan crafts, and even health and beauty products, such as this all-natural lavender and spring floral bar soap. It smells amazing!

Another item that smells great? This Elijah Roast coffee by Holy Brew. I normally don’t even like the aroma of coffee, but the scent of dark chocolate and walnut that is mixed with this blend promises a full, rich cup of java!
And, speaking of cups, look at this beautiful polished olive wood communion cup that is included with this season’s box:

One of the things I like most about the Artza subscription box is the fact it offers us a way to support local Israeli artists, farmers, and small business owners. Although the boxes are packaged with Christian consumers in mind, the products are sourced through Jewish, Christian, and Muslim makers.

Two more notable food items in the “Jesus Trail” box included this bag of Heavenly Pop. I was surprised at how fresh it tasted. It was light and sweet with a faint hint of cinnamon — delicious!

The box also had an amazing blend of herbs and seasoning to sprinkle over olive oil for dipping your bread in. So flavorful!

And they even provided an adorable, hand-painted, shallow ceramic olive dish which was the perfect size for dipping. This was actually my favorite piece in the whole box. I love making charcuterie boards, and this will be a fun addition — perfect for incorporating garlic-stuffed olives or spicy nuts or more dipping oil on future boards.

A unique, hand-painted piece of quality ceramic is a recurrent theme in every box, though — obviously — it won’t always be an olive dish.

There were lots more goodies in the box, as well. Family activities suitable for children, beautiful vinyl stickers for decorating laptops or water bottles, and a booklet with lots of information about contributing artists and various areas in Israel the products were sourced from.

The Artza subscription box is a great educational tool for families and individuals who would love to learn more about the Holy Land but aren’t able to visit in person. And it makes a thoughtful gift, as well.
