Hard Bible Riddles (Free Printable)

To kick off the new year, I’m cleaning out my inbox, starting with this request from a reader named Nelli who is looking for some hard Bible riddles. She writes:
Hi Jennifer,
Merry christmas and a blessed new year to you and your loved ones. Do you have riddles or hard bible questions on your blog? We seem to have run out of riddles. It would be great if you could share some.
Well, I invented a few riddles on the spot and sent them to her as quickly as I could — along with some links to several Bible trivia tests I’ve published in the past (scroll down for that list), but I’ve since come up with a few more and decided to share them on the blog today.
I used them this morning to quiz my youngest son, Gabriel (who turned 18 last month), to test how difficult they really are. Out of two dozen questions, he only missed two or three. Check them out below to see how well you do. I’ve included reference passages in case you get stumped, as well as an answer key. (No fair peeking until you give it the old college try!)

24 Free Printable Bible Riddles:
Although I didn’t have any Bible riddles posted when Nelli first wrote, I sent her a few with a promise to create more at my earliest convenience. Here are some I sent originally, followed by a collection of two dozen that will put your Bible knowledge to the test:
They made fun of Elisha for having no hair,
2 Kings 2:23-24
then afterward were mauled by bears:
How many boys did the mocking?
How many bears did the stalking?
My name is Asher,
Genesis 30:10-13
and Gad is my brother.
Jacob’s our father,
but who is our mother?
When in the furnace we were thrown,
Daniel 1:7; Daniel 3:23-27
the LORD did not leave us alone.
We weren’t injured by the flames.
What were our pagan and Hebrew names?
Here’s the full complement of questions. If any of them stump you, either look up the passage cited below the riddle or refer to page 4 of the PDF for the answer key.
