Christmas around the World Game

Christmas Day may be drawing to a close, but many Christmas celebrations around the world are just getting underway. That includes my own household this year, as my husband worked a 24-hour shift at the hospital today, so our family won’t open Christmas gifts until tomorrow morning.
And, since some of us still have 11 more days of Christmas to go, I thought now would be a great time to share my brand new Christmas around the World Game.

Christmas traditions vary widely across the globe. It’s interesting to see which of our own customs differ from those of other cultures — and which are much the same.
If you find this topic fascinating, too, you’ll enjoy taking this new trivia test. It explores such questions as…
- What do people in Germany call the stockings they hang up at Christmas time?
- Which country favors crèche figures carved from olive wood?
- What is the name of the special cabbage rolls that are served in Serbia on Christmas?
- What’s do you call the tiny charms that are given in Ecuador for Christmas?
- What instrument is used to play Christmas songs in Peru?
- What country hosts kite-flying events for Christmas?
- Which country hosts public pillow fights on Christmas?
Don’t worry if some of these answers stump you. The printable quiz is a matching game, so you’ll (hopefully) be able to use the process of elimination in your favor! Be sure to print enough copies to challenge family members and friends to a contest, and maybe even award a prize to the person who makes the highest score.
Whenever and however you celebrate, I hope your Christmas is merry, meaningful, and filled with wonderful memories!
