A soldier would never willingly rush into battle without his weapon and protective gear, but how often do we Christians rush into our day without suiting up with the sword and shield and helmet and breastplate God has provided for our protection?
We are doing battle — not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, against this present darkness and spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). It would be foolish to face such an onslaught unprepared.
So the verse featured in this week’s “Scripture Sunday” coloring page is this:
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)
