One Who Serves Coloring Page

Today I’m sharing this One Who Serves Coloring Page as a reminder that every believer is called to a life of serving others. This is made clear in the verse illustrated in this free printable:

“But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.” (Luke 22:26-27)

But our calling and duty to serve is also apparent in verses such as these:

  • “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” – Galatians 5:13
  • “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.” – John 13:14-16
  • “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.” – Philippians 2:5-7

I love that last passage from Philippians. The entire second chapter is both inspiring and convicting. In it, we are told to “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves,” and “do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)

Viewing others as more important? Putting their needs ahead of my own? That’s a tall order, isn’t it? And nothing we can do in our own strength, which is why we need to pray for God to give us the mind of Christ and conform us to His image.
