Love One Another Coloring Page
Whew! Never in my life have I seen so much snow in Texas! Like most of our southern neighbors, we’ve spent the past seven days holed up at home, wondering when it would melt. Sometimes we had electricity and running water. Sometimes we didn’t. But one thing we had in ample supply was “togetherness.” Which provided lots of opportunities to practice the theme of this week’s Love One Another coloring page.
Because loving one another means so much more than just not squabbling. Avoiding arguments and refraining from annoying behaviors is a great start — and is certainly a sanity saver for those who share the same household — but love goes far beyond laying aside negative habits.
It means embracing positive ones. Serving. Sharing. Supporting. Sacrificing. It means putting others’ interests ahead of your own. Looking for ways to build up and encourage. Rejoicing with them when they succeed. Weeping with them when they grieve.
This is the kind of love Christ models for us. Maintaining such Christlike love is impossible by human effort alone. In their natural state, our hearts are as cold, dark, and dead as the Texas power-grid in last week’s winter snowstorm.
But give that heart to Christ — plug it in to His all-sufficient mercy, never-failing love, and unbounded grace — and He will conform you to His image and empower you to love others well. Just as He has called us to do.
