I’ve always found today’s verse personally convicting:
“I will set no worthless thing before my eyes.” – Psalm 101:3
Other versions translate it “vain,” “wicked,” “vile,” “vulgar,” “base,” or “evil.”
I prefer the New American Standard translation, for although I’m not often tempted to set my eyes on evil, wicked things, I do sometimes focus my attention or center my thoughts on things that are empty or worthless, things that have little value in the scope of eternity.
And I think my kids sometimes fall into that same temptation. So this is the verse we’re memorizing this week.
Maybe having to quote it before checking out the iPad will encourage them to be more selective about the time they subsequently spend on it.
And maybe hearing it quoted so often will remind Mama to do the same. 🙂

Hope you have a wonderful (and worthwhile) week!
