Monday Mailbag Q&A

Already, the requests for my free printable 2022 Calendars have begun rolling in. At least once a week since January 1, I’ve been receiving requests from readers like these:

  • Cheryl: “Do you have the 2022 year at a glance calendar out yet? We love your calendars! I’ve tried to find one all day like yours and none compare!! God bless you!!”
  • Stephanie: “When will you have your 2022 calendars ready?”
  • Kerry: “I have used your calendars for several years and I LOVE and APPRECIATE them VERY MUCH!!!! Are you going to create a Year At A Glance Calendar [for 2022]??? I’m just curious if you were planning to make one. Thank you for being so willing to share your talents with the world!!
  • Samantha: “Have you posted your 2022 calendars yet?”

So I’ve learned to get my calendars ready super early to accommodate all my super-advanced-planning readers. If that describes you, you’ll find my free printable calendars for 2022 below. If, on the other hand, you’re still trying to get the current year under control, you can download what you need for this year by following this link: Free Printable Calendars for 2021

I made these calendar pages with big enough spaces to keep track of birthdays, appointments, vacations, and other important dates. It also serves well for tracking school assignments, tests, and due dates.

2022 Year-at-a-Glance Calendar

I originally designed this calendar at the request of my husband, who uses it to track his call schedule at the hospital. It gives a great, one-page view of the entire year.

Academic Calendars for the 2021-22 School Year.

A variation of our year-at-a-glance calendar, these academic calendars come in two formats: July-June or August-July. Take your pick.

2022 Scrapbooking Calendar

This is the calendar I use for keeping a micro-journal of our family’d daily life. At the end of each day, I summarize what we’ve done in a sentence or two. Then, at the end of the month, I make color copies to paste in my children’s scrapbooks.

But it also makes a nice printable calendar for keeping up with important dates within a family or classroom. I’ve heard from several teachers who send it home with their students, so parents can stay on top of what their kids are doing at school.

There are no 22-23 school year calendars under the 22-23 selected year. There are still calendars for the 21-22 school year posted there. Not sure if this is a mistake or if I am just looking in the wrong place. Can you provide a direct link to the 22-23 school year calendars? Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,
Thank you so much for the Scrapbooking Calendar. I love it a lot. However, I would like to ask which font that you used in them? I guess it’s your hand drawn font wondering if you based it on any specific font? I have bookmarked your page so I’ll definitely come back for more.
Thank you once again and wishing you and your family a safe & prosperous New Year.

Hi, Cindy. I didn’t have any font in mind when I drew those calendars. If you look back over all my scrapbooking calendars, you’ll see my letters are far from consistent. I just eyeball it and try to squeeze as much of each month’s name into those small empty spaces as I can. 😊

I just wanted to thank you for the Year at a Glance calendars that you make and share each year. What would I do each school year without this PARTICULAR YEAR AT A GLANCE calendar? You LEAVE SPACE to make notations. Many year at a glance have numbers only, no box. OR, they have a box and the date takes up the ENTIRE box. What you have created is the absolute PERFECT Year at a Glance for Homeschoolers and I THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR this so important part of my Year planning purposes. :)!!!!!! Have a great year!!!

Knowing that several of the pastoral staff at our Knowing that several of the pastoral staff at our church were reading through The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry last month, I did too. It didn’t take long to realize I’m more addicted to hurry than I suspected. (Injuring my hip shortly after starting this book brought my tendency to rush, rush, rush to light in a hurry.) I found many of the book’s suggestions for breaking such an addiction helpful, although I also got the impression this author leans a little to the left politically (and maybe theologically, as well). He gives some good food for thought but, as always, readers should be careful to eat the meat and spit out the bones. #flandersfamilyreads
One more pic from our recent trip to Florida: We d One more pic from our recent trip to Florida: We didn’t get any fish, but we did catch a few rays while we were there. ☀️ And are we ever missing that sunshine now that temps in East Texas have dipped below freezing. Brrrrr, it’s cold outside! ❄️ #bundleup #keepwarm #florida #photoop
We usually read this book — recounting our own f We usually read this book — recounting our own family history — aloud to our kids every December, but we technically didn’t finish our most recent read through until January this year. It took a while to get through them, because we had to stop so often to laugh or cry or discuss the antics recorded in each letter. In addition to giving our younger ones a glimpse of what their older siblings were like growing up, the letters serve as a poignant reminder of God’s faithfulness to our family through the years. I compiled this printed collection several years back, adding in several of our favorite Christmas traditions, recipes, and other “bonus material” for good measure. It’s half-price right now on Amazon. I have no idea how long that sale will last, but If you’ve ever wished for a fly-on-the-wall view of what life in a large family looks like, this would be a good way to get it. 🤪 #flandersfamilyreads #christmasbooks #familyletters
Abby and I made lots of sweet memories at the Moth Abby and I made lots of sweet memories at the Mother-Daughter Retreat we attended last week, despite my having to leave early after injuring my hip. But —good news — it wasn’t broken and is feeling almost completely back to normal now, for which we are all very grateful! #motherdaughterlove #havingfun #mybabyisnotababyanymore
Here’s another book I finished earlier this mont Here’s another book I finished earlier this month. I’d read and enjoyed a couple of Alexandra Kuykendall’s other books in the past, and Loving My Actual Life was written in the same vein. In this volume, the author spends nine months tackling nine areas in her "actual life" (as opposed to the Pinterest- and Instagram-fueled ideas of what her life "should" be like) that need work, one at a time. Many of the problem-areas she discusses in this journal-style narrative and the solutions she finds for dealing with them, will resonate with readers and point the way to improving their own situations. It was a fun, quick, and easy read with some good actionable ideas for loving your own actual life. #flandersfamilyreads #bookreview #bibliophile #bookwormlife

I’m behind again… not on reading, but on posti I’m behind again… not on reading, but on posting the books as I finish them. My second read for the year was an audiobook by Robert and Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth called You Can Trust God to Write Your Story. I found it both enjoyable and encouraging. The authors take turns reading the book, detailing the stories of biblical, historical, and modern day believers and sharing the journey God has taken each of them through for their good and His glory. #flandersfamilyreads #godisgoodallthetime

We’ve been gaining a lot of good woodworking experience over here for the past week (and dirt work/stone laying before that).
