\"Super<\/p>\n

Making cinnamon rolls from scratch is much simpler than it sounds \u2013 and they are so scrumptious! One taste, and you\u2019ll never want to go back to canned. I love to add raisins and nuts to mine, but they are good without them, too.<\/p>\n

Here’s how we make them at our house (photos courtesy of Rebekah and Rachel, whose constant experimenting in the kitchen has helped keep our family well-fed for years now):<\/p>\n

INGREDIENTS<\/h2>\n
\n

rolls:<\/h3>\n

1\/4 ounce dry yeast
\n1 cup warm milk
\n1\/2 cup sugar
\n1\/3 cup butter
\n1 teaspoon salt
\n2 eggs
\n4 cups flour<\/p>\n

filling:<\/h3>\n

1 cup brown sugar
\n2 1\/2 tablespoons cinnamon
\n1\/3 cup butter
\n1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
\n1 cup plump raisins (optional)<\/p>\n

icing:<\/h3>\n

1 cup brown sugar
\n2 cups powdered sugar
\n1 teaspoon vanilla
\n1 tablespoon milk more if needed<\/p>\n

DIRECTIONS<\/h2>\n
\n

To make these easy-bake cinnamon rolls, first dissolve yeast in warm milk in large bowl.<\/p>\n

\"Super<\/p>\n

Add sugar, butter, eggs, flour, and salt, then mix well.<\/p>\n

\"Super<\/p>\n

Knead the dough in a large bowl using your hands (lightly dusted with flour). Place in bowl, cover with towel, and leave in a warm place to rise for one hour.<\/p>\n

Once dough has doubled in size, roll it out onto a lightly floured surface until it’s approximately 21 inches long and 16 inches wide. It should be about one fourth of an inch thick.<\/p>\n

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.<\/p>\n

For filling, combine cinnamon and brown sugar in a bowl, along with nuts and raisins if you choose to add them. Spread softened butter evenly over dough and sprinkle cinnamon mixture evenly.<\/p>\n

Working carefully from the long edge, roll dough toward opposite side.<\/p>\n

\"Super<\/p>\n

Cut your easy-bake cinnamon rolls into slices about 2 inches thick. Place in a lightly greased pan. My daughters used a knife in the pictures for this step, but you can avoid squishing the rolls by using a clean piece of dental floss to cut the slices. It’s much easier that way. Just loop the floss around the end of the log about 1-inch in, then pull it tight for perfectly sliced rolls.<\/p>\n

\"Super<\/p>\n

Place in a baking dish with edges touching. Cook for 10 minutes or until golden brown. While rolls are in the oven, combine icing ingredients. Spread a generous layer over all once the rolls come out of the oven.<\/p>\n
