In the wake of last week’s elections, I’ve seen a fair share of hand-wringing and fearful projections and broken spirits and despair being expressed online.

I get it. The results were a little disheartening for conservatives. But they should also serve as a reminder that our hope lies not in politics, but in the LORD. (If not, that is where it be!)

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart triumphs, And with my song I shall thank Him.”
Psalm 28:7

Furthermore, God has not called us to worry or fret or complain, but to “consider it all joy when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (James 1:2-3)

So today seems like the perfect time to share my new Joyful Heart Coloring Page. It features the words of yet another great verse for circumstances like the one in which we currently find ourselves. It reads:

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
proverbs 17:22

So let’s commit to doing that, shall we? To cultivating a joyful heart? To rejoicing in the LORD always? (Philippians 4:4) And to giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for us. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

These aren’t mere suggestions. They are direct commands. So let’s snap to and get to back to work!
