were eager to check this one out for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4vTLiNF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Odyssey<\/a><\/em> over the course of my lifetime, but none have I enjoyed more than this translation by Emily Wilson. She wrote the entire thing in iambic pentameter using modern day English, and did a superb job of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Included with the translation, which we listened to on Audible, was 3.5 hours of introductory material which supplied pertinent information on the work and offered an fresh perspective on this epic rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Praying for Your Future Husband<\/a> <\/em> is not a book I read for my own benefit (although I did pray for many of these things before ever meeting my husband four decades ago).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, I read it to see if it might be a book worth recommending to the many single girls who&#8217;ve written to me over the years asking what they should be doing while waiting for Mr. Right to appear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the answer is, yes, praying for a future spouse is definitely something I&#8217;d recommend, and this book presents a very balanced and biblically-informed perspective on what form such prayers should take. For years my husband has re-read all our family&#8217;s old Christmas updates every December, as a way of preserving those memories and of letting the younger kids glimpse what life was like in our family when older brothers and sisters were little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, most of our children have grown up and moved away from home now, so we no longer get to gather them all together in the living room every evening to continue this tradition during the holidays. I thought recording the stories this way would allow them to share some of those same sweet memories with their own children.
