In honor of Mother’s Day (today!), I’m sharing a free printable Teaching Kindness Coloring Page<\/a> this week. It features the words of Proverbs 31:26, “She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love this verse. It reminds me of something my mother often told me about my grandmother. She said she never once heard an unkind word slip past her own mother’s lips. Isn’t that a wonderful testimony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My own mother did a wonderful job modeling that same character trait. Lots of moms have told their kids, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” But few consistently live by that sage advice. My mom was among the few, just like her own mother was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that is the kind of life I’ve aspired to live as well. I want to be known as a woman who only and always speaks the truth in love, seasoned liberally with grace. I want to a reputation for consistently wise and kind speech. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While it may be possible to have such reputation in the community, where we really need to live it out is in our homes, before our husband and children. They know us better than anybody else on earth, and if we can be consistent about speaking words of wisdom and kindness to them, it’s a win for everybody involved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
