Have you ever noticed how many Bible verses talk about birds? Birds serve as a reminder of God’s tender care for us. He feeds the birds and watches over them, so how much more will He watch over and provide for us? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said He longs to gather His people together as a hen gathers her chicks beneath her wings. (Matt. 23:37<\/a>) He told His followers that foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head. (Luke 9:58<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, there are lots of verses from the Sermon on the Mount and the Psalms that speak of birds, many of which I’ve used on the fronts of these little note cards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a total of 12 designs, all of which you can download for free using this link: Bird Verses Note Cards<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For best results, print on card stock, use a paper trimmer to cut pages in half cross-wise, then fold each card down the center line with design facing outward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I originally put these graphics together to make some handcrafted ornaments for my Christmas tree. Actually, I call it my springtime tree. It’s a slim line tree I keep in our bedroom, and I never took it down after Christmas last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, I’ve just been switching out the ornaments to match the season. Right now, it’s all decked out for spring with birds (some of which I felted myself) and painted wooden birdhouses, eggs and nests (most of which I crafted from Spanish moss I gathered in San Antonio last time we visited our son who lives there), and — of course — these sweet little bird-embellished scripture verses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These would also make cure refrigerator magnets or gift toppers or party favors for a springtime tea. Here’s a close up of how they’re constructed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re interested in making some yourself, you’ll need the designs from my bird verse note cards to be sized a little differently. You’ll find squared-off designs in two different sizes here: Square Bird Prints for Crafting<\/a> . Pick whichever size best suits your purposes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make my ornaments, I printed the designs, cut them into squares using a paper trimmer, mounted them on slightly larger squares of tag board (you could use up-cycled cardboard boxes for this purpose), then glued small twigs around the edges of the design to created an natural and slightly rustic frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
