Then try packing a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. The national collection week is coming up soon, so now is the perfect time to make plans to participate. Just wrap a shoebox with colorful paper (wrap the lid separately), fill with toys and treats a child would enjoy, secure with a rubber band, and drop at the nearest collection center. For detailed instructions and printable labels, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samaritanspurse.org\/operation-christmas-child\/pack-a-shoe-box\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screen-Shot-2013-11-07-at-11.03.07-PM-e1383887677311.png?resize=900%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"How to host a shoebox stuffing party | with free printables from www.flandersfamily.info\" width=\"900\" height=\"540\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7444\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our family will be hosting our sixth annual &#8220;Shoebox Stuffing Party&#8221; next week. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.samaritanspurse.org\/what-we-do\/operation-christmas-child\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Operation Christmas Child<\/a>, sponsored by Samaritan&#8217;s Purse, is a great way to kick-off the holiday season and to make a difference in the lives of children all across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve found that it also makes a great service project for families. We invite families from our church and homeschooling community to join with us, pooling our resources to prepare and pack anywhere from 60-100 shoeboxes.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screen-Shot-2013-11-06-at-2.43.34-PM-e1383797536346.png?resize=900%2C600&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Shoebox Stuffing Party for Operation Christmas Child: How To\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our guests bring goodies to go inside the boxes, which are sorted and separated into labeled laundry baskets &#8212; school supplies in one, toiletries in another, hard candy in another, etc. <\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screen-Shot-2013-11-06-at-2.44.07-PM-e1383797727389.png?resize=900%2C600&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Shoebox Stuffing Party for Operation Christmas Child: How To\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7429\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We eventually laminated our signs, so now we just reuse the same ones year after year.
