The thing that first turned me on to Timberdoodle thirty-something years ago was their critical thinking games. And they’ve continued to deliver great products in that category ever since, including a brand new game called Grizzly Gears<\/a> we tried out this week.<\/p>\n

\"Grizzly<\/p>\n

The object of this one-player game is to get the pieces to their rightful home — the bunny to the rabbit, the fawn to the deer, the lumberjack to the woodpile, the camper to the tent, etc — without getting caught by the bear.<\/p>\n

\"Grizzly<\/p>\n

In order to move the character pieces from one side of the board to the other, you must grab the chunky evergreen trees in the center of each interlocking gear and give them a spin. The gears are positioned such that only one can be moved at a time.<\/p>\n

\"Grizzly<\/p>\n

The Grizzly Gears<\/a> game includes 80 different challenges in gradually increasing levels of difficulty. We solved the first few beginner level challenges quickly enough that we tried skipping to the expert level, where we got immediately stumped.<\/p>\n

\"Grizzly<\/p>\n

So we backed up and began again where we’d left off, counting on the skill we gain in the lower levels to help us navigate the more difficult challenges.<\/p>\n

This game is designed for ages 7 and up — although I can vouch that it will provide a great workout for adult brains, as well!<\/p>\n

If you or any of your family members enjoy logic puzzles as much as we do, Grizzly Gears<\/a> definitely deserves a closer look. It is available through Timberdoodle for individual purchase or as part of their 2023 Sixth Grade Curriculum Kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n
