Here is a fun new journal I gave to my daughter for Christmas. It’s called My Year of Nature<\/a>. (Please ignore the dirt under my fingernails. I’m a nature-lover myself, and had been digging around in my garden before snapping these photos. \ud83d\ude2c )<\/p>\n

You might not suspect it to see her all dolled up in red lace, but my daughter is a nature-lover, too, and loves being outdoors: climbing trees, hiking trails, biking around the neighborhood, or drawing in her journal.<\/p>\n

My Year of Nature<\/a> is packed with fun doodling and writing prompts — all designed to increase your perception skills and get you more in touch with the world around you.<\/p>\n

The journalist is encouraged to brainstorm outdoor adventures she’d like to take, take note of what the weather is doing, and look for natural beauty in unexpected places.<\/p>\n

I got this sweet little nature journal through Timberdoodle. They sent me one free copy to review, but Abby and I both liked it so much, we bought a second copy to give as a birthday gift to one of her friends.<\/p>\n

As a homeschooler, I love the fact that My Year of Nature compliments both my daughter’s science studies and her creative writing class. Anything that gets a child interested in learning, observing, and recording things on their own is a win in my book!<\/p>\n
