Since December 29th marks the birthday of our 17th president, Andrew Johnson, the coloring page I’m sharing today features his quote: “Duties have been mine; consequences are God’s. <\/p>\n

\nThis saying is as true now as it was then. We have a responsibility to faithfully and obediently discharge the duties God has laid upon us, but we must entrust the results to Him. We have no control over that part of the equation.<\/p>\n

This is especially the case in parenting and child-training, in education, in evangelism, in health care — the list goes on and on. We can do our own part. But we cannot force anybody else to do theirs.<\/p>\n

So, as a New Year draws nigh, let’s recommit ourselves to cheerfully and consistently attending to our duties, all the while praying that God would bless our efforts and make them fruitful.<\/p>\n
