The Stabilo Pencils<\/a> I’m reviewing this week for Timberdoodle were a huge hit, both with my children and with my grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n

The pencils were much thicker than I was expecting, but their stubby shape and thick wooden casing made them virtually indestructible.<\/p>\n\n\n

And with 18 bright, creamy colors to choose from, there were plenty to go around. The kids didn’t seem to mind sharing at all.<\/p>\n\n\n

The children enjoyed drawing freehand with the pencils…<\/p>\n\n\n

… but they also had fun using the paintbrush included with the set for turning their sketches into vibrant watercolor paintings. And the hand-held sharpener included in the set ensure the pencils stay sharp — though we haven’t had to use ours yet. These leads have staying power!<\/p>\n\n\n

The short, fat pencils were easy for even the tiniest hands to grasp. Don’t you love that sweet little smile?<\/p>\n\n\n

The adults in our family enjoyed drawing with Stabilo pencils every bit as much as the children did.<\/p>\n\n\n

The pencils provided great coverage and showed up clearly, even on dark colored paper.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bottom line: I really like the versatility of this product. Stabilo pencils<\/a> are easy to handle, more durable than crayons, longer lasting than markers or map pencils, much less messy than paint or pastels, but able to produce comparable results to all those media, depending entirely upon how you use them.<\/p>\n\n\n
