Today, I’m reviewing a set of wooden lacing zoo animals<\/a> I got for my grandkids. They came from a wonderful curriculum company called Timberdoodle. <\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

Timberdoodle<\/a> recently contacted me about reviewing a slew of new products. I’ve been a loyal customer for decades and am still using products that I bought from this company thirty years ago. My kids love everything I’ve ever ordered from Timberdoodle. So, of course, I enthusiastically agreed to take a peek at some of their newest offerings.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

I plan to review one product per week until I work my way through the box of goodies they sent me, beginning with this adorable set of wooden animals for lacing. My own children are a little old for this set now, but we have 13 grandchildren, over half of whom are the perfect age to enjoy them.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

Thankfully, both the figures and the storage box are durably made, so this set should stand up to repeated use. That’s a good thing with my big crew!<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

The thick nylon laces well-constructed, too. They hold up to strong tugging and resist knotting and tangling.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

The holes in the wooden figures are big enough to let the laces pass through easily, but small enough to build fine motor skills and encourage hand-eye coordination.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

That makes these wooden lacing zoo animals<\/a> a perfect challenge for the 2-and-up crowd. I also like the fact that the laces are long enough to reach to all the holes, even if kids don’t follow the intended pattern.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

Four large animals comprise the set. But it includes a couple of smaller pieces, as well. That way, kids can practice sewing two pieces together, like the little bird sitting atop this alligator:<\/p>\n

Even the older brothers enjoyed trying their had at lacing these cute little zoo animals.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

The older they got, the neater the results and the faster they finished. But the big kids didn’t stick with the activity as long as their younger counterparts.<\/p>\n

\"Wooden<\/p>\n

At the rate our kids are having kids, our youngest grandchildren will enjoy lacing these animal shapes for many years to come. <\/p>\n
