Emily Buchwald once said, “Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.” That’s the theme of this week’s coloring page. But I want to unpack it a little. What, exactly, can parents do to raise children who love to read?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a homeschool mom, I want my children to enjoy devouring good books as much as their dad and I do. That’s one of my deepest desires.<\/p>\n\n\n

First and foremost, I want them to love the Word of God. I want them to read the Bible daily<\/a>, hide it in their hearts, and look to it for guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If children can learn to love books on the laps of their parents, they can learn to love the Lord from the same vantage point. Scripture backs this idea:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
