I goofed! I didn’t mean to leave Mom out<\/strong>, but I did. <\/p>\n

Several years ago, I published a series of printables for Father’s Day<\/a> that young children could fill in describing their Dad. <\/p>\n

The fact I haven’t published a similar set of Mother’s Day printables<\/a> was a complete oversight. An oversight I intend to remedy right now.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I’ve long believed handwritten notes and cards make the very best gifts<\/strong>. I’m a big letter writer myself, and I love words. I also love the keepsake value of my children’s unique perspective — not to mention penmanship samples from their early years!<\/p>\n

And so, here are a few Mother’s Day printables<\/a> that keep those goals in mind. <\/p>\n

Pssst. If you’re Mom, just forward this post to Dad and let him coordinate<\/strong>. Be sure and act surprised when your kids present the results to you on your special day!<\/p>\n

First, we have \u201c5 Things I Love about Mom.\u201d It\u2019s sometimes surprising to see how kids fill out such a list<\/strong>. Little things that may seem insignificant to an adult are often huge in a child\u2019s mind:<\/p>\n

Our next Mother’s Day printable is a template for an acrostic poem<\/strong>. Each letter stands for a word or phrase that describes Mother (and, no, the lines do not necessarily need to rhyme):<\/p>\n

One of the most famous tributes to motherhood<\/a> was written in this same style:<\/p>\n

M-O-T-H-E-R<\/h2>\n

“M” is for the million things she gave me,
\n“O” means only that she’s growing old,
\n“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
\n“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
\n“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
\n“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
\nPut them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
\nA word that means the world to me. <\/p>\n

Last of all is a little fact sheet about mother. <\/strong>Children can use this Mother’s Day printable as a fact gathering questionnaire to interview Mom, or they can just take their best guess at the answers and fill it out on their own. The results are sure to be amusing, either way!<\/p>\n
