It has been a while since I’ve published one of my <\/strong>“Scripture Sunday” coloring pages<\/strong>.<\/a> But I’ve gotten a few letters from readers recently encouraging me to bring them back. So I’m happy to oblige.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week’s coloring page<\/a> comes from the Armor of God passage in Ephesians:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil\u2019s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood<\/strong>, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground<\/strong>, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests<\/strong>. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord\u2019s people. (Ephesians 6:10-18<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

That’s a great reminder, isn’t it? Stand firm. Be strong. Remain steadfast and resolute. Keep the faith.<\/strong> Don’t give up or give in. Put your hope and trust in God.<\/p>\n\n\n

Our family has spent the past few weeks in Europe. We’ve toured a lot of castles and cathedrals<\/strong>. We’ve seen a host of bronze statues and knights in shining armor.<\/p>\n\n\n

The helmets and shields and breastplates they wore were all protective. Had I been a knight in the Middle Ages, I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to meet my enemy in battle without such protective gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither would I want to meet my enemy today without being clad in the armor God provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But knights also carried offensive weapons onto the battlefield. They would’ve been hard pressed to prevail without a lance or sword or spear of some sort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the Lord provides us with a keener weapon than can be forged in any earthly fire: the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We mustn’t leave that behind when we march into battle, but take it up daily. Carry it constantly. Memorize it. Meditate upon in. Learn to wield it deftly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

That’s one of my goals in publishing this Be Strong coloring page<\/a> and others like it: to help you and your children hide the Word of God in your hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
