It’s time to celebrate another quirky holiday<\/a> at our house today. Happy National Harmonica Day! Our family will pass it practicing the following simple songs for the harmonica. Scroll down to have a listen. ?<\/p>\n We used to attend church with a young boy who carried a harmonica everywhere he went. He kept it in his back pocket, and whenever he was in line on the playground, he’d pull it out and play a few hymns while he waited<\/strong> for his turn to play four-square or knock-out.<\/p>\n It always made me happy to hear him play, and I loved all the beautiful old hymns in his repertoire. I eventually bought a harmonica<\/a> of my own<\/strong> and asked my young friend to teach me the basics.<\/p>\n That was over a decade ago. Playing it wasn’t quite as easy as he made it look, but wasn’t terribly difficult, either. After just an hour or two of practice, I was able to pick out the tunes of a lot of those old hymns myself.<\/strong><\/p>\n
