It’s Sunday, so it’s time to share another of my free printable coloring pages<\/a>. The Bible commands us to take every thought captive, and this week’s coloring page provides a beautiful reminder of that directive.<\/p>\n\n\n

The thing I love about coloring Scripture verses is that you can meditate on the verse and hide it in your heart<\/strong> as you do. Here, Paul gives us a good reason to commit God’s Word to memory<\/strong> — so we’re ABLE to “take every thought captive.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5<\/a>, NIV)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Sharpening Your Thinking Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To really cultivate clear thinking in our families, we need to (1) Know the Truth and (2) Recognize lies (fallacies) when we hear them<\/strong>. I know of no better way to know the truth than to study the Bible for yourself, to memorize it, and to meditate on it daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for recognizing lies and faulty thinking, that’s really a by-product of being well-versed in the Truth. But I’d also recommend the following books for sharpening your powers of discernment. The first, The Fallacy Detective<\/a>, is great for helping kids identify common fallacies and teaching them to think logically. The other two books, Lies Women Believe<\/a> and Lies Men Believe<\/a> (and the Truth that Sets Them Free) tackle wrong beliefs that even Christian adults sometimes buy into, sometimes without even realizing it.<\/p>\n\n\n
