For as long as I can remember, I have loved writing and drawing and coloring. Several of my kids share these passions<\/strong>, and I’m always on the lookout for products that encourage even the ones who aren’t naturally bent that way to spend time developing those skills. That’s why I love Doodle Your Day<\/a>, a kids’ journal that Timberdoodle sent me to review this week. <\/p>\n

This bright, whimsical journal is designed for ages 8 and up, but I have a nearly 7-year old who’ll be getting a copy for her birthday next month, and I’m anticipating having to buy extra copies<\/strong> for a few of her older siblings, as well.<\/p>\n

\"Doodle<\/p>\n

There is a different journal prompt for every day <\/strong>(including Leap Day), the vast majority of which can be completed with a doodle (hence, the title).<\/p>\n

That makes this a great first journal for kids, as the “assignments” are quick and easy… and loads of fun<\/strong>, as well! Some of the days’ doodles are given a full page spread to work with:<\/p>\n

Others get only half a page. As you can see, it wouldn’t take long to complete any of these prompts. That’s why they call it micro-journaling<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What a fun keepsake it will be once it’s completed! I like the fact that some of the prompts relate to quirky holidays<\/strong>, as our family enjoys celebrating those, anyway.<\/p>\n

Flipping through the book, I’ve even discovered a few “National Holidays” I never knew existed<\/strong>, although they left out some of our favorites, like Texas Independence Day<\/a> and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday<\/a> (both of which are TODAY!)<\/p>\n

If you have a budding young artist who — like my kids — leaves a trail of scratch paper drawings behind everywhere he\/she goes, do yourself a favor and give them a fun way to keep all their doodles together in one place.<\/strong><\/p>\n
