It’s official! We closed on our new house on Friday<\/strong> and will be moving shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, just a few hours before closing, the postman delivered four huge boxes of spring bulbs <\/strong>I’d ordered from Breck’s, so before we ever moved a stick of furniture, we grabbed our spades and shovels and spent our first day as new homeowners naturalizing daffodils under the trees in our new front yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We planted over 350 of them yesterday <\/strong>and have twice again that many to get in the ground tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kids have been a huge help<\/strong> to me in this endeavor. One peels back the sod, another digs the holes, another sets the bulbs, another mixes in the fertilizer, and another replaces the soil and grass before we all move on to the next spot and go through all those steps again.<\/p>\n\n\n

We work for awhile and trade jobs, then work awhile longer and shift again. I can’t guarantee that all the bulbs got planted at the proper depth<\/strong> or that the fertilizer is evenly spread into the soil (and we’re counting on the sprinkler system to do all the watering), but of one thing we are certain: None of those blooms will ever see the light of day apart from God. He makes the sun shine, He sends the rain, and He will cause the growth, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As 1 Corinthians 3:7 says, “It\u2019s not important who does the planting or who does the watering. What\u2019s important is that God makes the seed grow.”<\/strong> That’s the theme of this week’s free God Makes Seeds Grow coloring page:<\/p>\n\n\n
