They are all huge salad lovers, and the majority of them are fond of things like beets and beans and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/brussels-sprouts-for-kids-who-hate-brussels-sprouts\/\">Brussels sprouts<\/a>, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my top five tips for <strong>raising kids who like to eat what\u2019s good for them<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<h2>How to Get Your Kids to Eat More Veggies<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3>Eat a lot of veggies yourself. <\/h3>\n<p>Little ones are automatically more interested in what\u2019s on your plate than what\u2019s on their own. <strong>Lead by example.<\/strong> Pile your own plate high with lots of bright, fresh veggies, and when your child requests a bite, be happy to share.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-ella-olsson-1640777-e1625693963408.jpeg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"salad\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30042\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-ella-olsson-1640777-e1625693963408.jpeg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-ella-olsson-1640777-e1625693963408.jpeg?resize=600%2C400&amp;ssl=1 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Clean out the pantry<\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019ll have a hard time teaching your children to prefer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/50-wholesome-quick-easy-snacks-free-printable\/\">healthful, nutritious foods<\/a> if you stock your pantry with calorie-dense snacks that are full of sugar, salt, and fat. Food manufacturers purposefully formulate their products to make them more addictive. <strong>Don\u2019t bring the junk food home<\/strong>, and you won\u2019t have to compete. <\/p>\n<p>Instead, <strong>fill your pantry and fridge with fresh, easy-to-grab fruit and veggies<\/strong>, such as apples, oranges, bananas, carrots, celery sticks and sugar-snap peas.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-taryn-elliott-4440172-e1625694000690.jpeg?resize=1024%2C709&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Pantry\" width=\"1024\" height=\"709\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-taryn-elliott-4440172-e1625694000690.jpeg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.flandersfamily.info\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/pexels-taryn-elliott-4440172-e1625694000690.jpeg?resize=600%2C415&amp;ssl=1 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Let your kids help in the kitchen<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Even very young children can rinse produce and help prepare raw dishes<\/strong>. Fruits and veggies are naturally bright and beautiful. Don\u2019t prepare them in such a way that all the color gets cooked out.  <\/p>\n<p>When serving raw veggies to young children, give them some hummus or ranch dressing to dip them in or arrange them on the plate to make a scene. Pinterest is full of fun food ideas for dressing up vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>If all else fails, <strong>try hiding the veggies in other foods<\/strong>: add zucchini to muffins or squash and carrots to spaghetti sauce.
