The past eight days have been joyous but busy ones for our family. For better or worse, the week began with a triathlon in San Marcos last Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n

Then came my baby’s birthday<\/a>. Mine was the following day. Then my husband’s the day after that. Then the 30th anniversary of the day we met<\/a>. We took our kids on an out-of-town field trip on Thursday…<\/p>\n\n\n

We were so impressed with the Pearce Museum in Corsicana that we’re already planning a return trip to see more of their extensive collections (17,000 Civil War letters and 44,000 Native American arrowheads).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

… then hosted two wedding showers in our home — one yesterday morning and another this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n

It isn’t exactly a Bible verse, but these traditional wedding vows are still very Biblical. After all, Jesus said, “What God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Matthew 19:6<\/a>) And the only way that’s going to happen is if husband and wife are both committed to marriage in general and to each other in specific, and strive to live by the vows they make at the alter… for better or worse, as long as they both shall live.<\/p>\n\n\n
