Her answer to that last question: <strong>&#8220;Because I gave God my heart, and I love Him.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abby&#8217;s putting her trust in Jesus is a direct answer to many, many prayers<\/strong> that Doug and I have prayed on her behalf over the years &#8212; just as we&#8217;ve done for all her siblings &#8212; beginning <a href=\"http:\/\/lovinglifeathome.com\/2014\/05\/25\/praying-for-your-unborn-child\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before they were ever born<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We firmly believe <strong>it would be better never to have been born than to spend eternity separated from God<\/strong>. And that is why the prayer that God would draw our children to faith from an early age has taken precedence over every other request.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, if we had our druthers, all our children would be healthy, happy, and whole, as well &#8212; but those preferences pale in comparison to the well-being of their souls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is far more important to us that our children&#8217;s spiritual eyes are open than that their physical vision is 20\/20<\/strong>. We&#8217;d rather their ears be attuned to God&#8217;s still, small voice than that they&#8217;d effectively transmit physical sound to the brain.<\/p>\n<p>It is enough for us to know that <strong>there will be no sickness or disease in eternity<\/strong>. If it takes a physical infirmity this side of heaven to turn their hearts toward God, then so be it.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s verse is <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/context\/isaiah\/35-5.htm\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah 35:5-6<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
