\"Skating:<\/a>The year after we moved to Tyler, the Parks and Recreation Department built a new skate park<\/a>. That was 17 years ago, back when we had a garage full of rollerblades and a house full of aspiring stuntmen <\/strong>(including my husband, who probably should have known better).<\/p>\n

He drove our sons to Noble E. Young Park<\/a> the week it opened, and they watched enthusiastically as fellow skaters made flying up and down those half-pipes look easy<\/strong>. So Dad invested in a brand new skateboard for himself, then returned to the skatepark to try and imitate what he’d seen.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the very first time he got that new board rolling, he crashed and broke his arm<\/strong>. He was in no shape to roll again for months after that. (He couldn’t comb his hair, either, which prompted him to get a crew cut that he’s worn pretty much ever since).<\/p>\n

Fortunately, there’s no such fitful starts and stops to God’s justice and righteousness.<\/strong> It just keeps on rolling on and on and on, like a flowing river or a stream that never dries up:<\/p>\n

“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24<\/a>)<\/p>\n
