In honor of Father’s Day, I thought I’d share a poem I wrote for my husband many years ago when our children were younger. Enjoy!<\/p>\n

A Hero in the Making<\/h2>\n

Our little one is watching\u2013
\nCan\u2019t you see it in his eyes?
\nHow he brightens at the sight of you
\nWith happy, wild surprise?
\nYes, our little one is watching,
\nHe sees everything you do,
\nAnd he\u2019s mimicking your actions
\nTrying hard to be like you.<\/p>\n

Our little one is listening\u2013
\nHe hears every word you say,
\nPerks up whene\u2019er he hears your voice,
\nNo matter time of day.
\nYes, our little one is listening.
\nAnd your words, they sink in deep.
\nThey encourage, they inspire him,
\nAnd they echo in his sleep.<\/p>\n

Our little one is following,
\nAnd he shadows every move,
\nWatching close for your reaction\u2013
\nHow he hopes that you\u2019ll approve!
\nYes, our little one is following\u2013
\nAnd I thank the Lord above
\nFor your wise and good example,
\nYour devotion and your love.<\/p>\n

Our little one\u2019s believing\u2013
\nYou\u2019re a hero in his eyes,
\nAnd he knows that he can trust you
\nLike he knows the sun will rise.
\nYes, our little one\u2019s believing\u2013
\nGod protect his tender heart,
\nFor he\u2019ll view his Heav\u2019nly Father
\nAs he\u2019s seen you from the start.<\/h3>\n

\"SoI am eternally thankful that this is the sort of father I was blessed to have. <\/p>\n
