I called my husband at work last week to tell him something and prefaced my comments with, “I have some great news…”<\/strong><\/p>\n

To which he immediately replied, “You’re pregnant!”<\/p>\n

Sadly, that wasn’t what I’d called to tell him — and at age 50, it’s seeming less and less likely that I will ever be making that happy announcement again — but it was wonderful to realize that such a revelation would still be met with enthusiastic anticipation<\/strong>, for we both wholeheartedly believe what Scripture teaches:<\/p>\n

\u201cBehold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.\u201d (Psalm 127:3-5<\/a>)<\/h2>\n

This is true, whether we’re talking biological children, adopted children, or — as is the case for our current season of life — grandchildren.<\/p>\n

We have five so far — all boys — with another due in October! So even though I miss having a wee one of my own to cuddle and care for<\/strong>, I get plenty of opportunities to do the same for my sweet grandsons.<\/p>\n

At least, the youngest still likes to be cuddled. The others stay so busy, they seldom slow down<\/strong> or sit still long enough for me to hold them anymore!<\/p>\n

Last time they came to visit, my son showed me a video he’d taken of the littlest one climbing ladders at the playground, so I know it’s only a matter of time before he grows discontent in my lap, as well<\/strong>, and toddles off to join his big brothers.<\/p>\n

Good thing a replacement will be here soon<\/strong>!<\/p>\n
