Look at the Birds Coloring Page
I love this season of year: The trees and flowers are starting to bloom. The days are getting longer. The weather is warming. And look! The birds are back!
So birds seem a fitting choice for this week’s “Scripture Sunday” coloring page. This design is based on Matthew 6:26.
Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns. And yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
This coloring page first appeared in my “Color the Word” series. I designed these richly-detailed, Scripture-based coloring books with grown-ups in mind, but they can be enjoyed by all ages.
For those who enjoy journaling as well as coloring, my devotional journals offer the best of both worlds.
The kids and I enjoy coloring in these journals while my husband reads to us each night. We usually use Prismacolor pencils (aff. link) for this job because we love the rich colors and creamy smoothness and blendability they offer, but I recently tried painting the borders and have been thrilled with those results, as well:
I used regular bottles of Folk-Art paint for these examples. It didn’t bleed through, no matter how thick I laid it on. (Sadly, the same cannot be said of using watercolors. I’ve managed to do that successfully, too, but the process was much trickier)
The nice thing about these journals is I can jump around and fill in whichever pages appeal to me at the time. I do the artwork while Doug reads, and go back later to complete the journaling.
All three of these pics are from my devotional journal Sweet Child of Mine. It would make a great Mother’s Day or baby shower gift (hint hint), if you know a mother — young, old, or any age in between — who enjoys coloring, journaling, or crafts in general.
I also wanted to thank you for sharing your coloring pages and everything on your site. I started over a year ago sending cards and coloring pages to people in nursing homes. It is hard finding ones that I am sure are free to use. I know the elderly people love getting them and and I use the scripture in the theme of the card. I’m using this one with the Father’s day card as I focus on the greatest Father of all. May God’s blessing fill your cup to over flowing. I had six children and always wanted 12. You are so blessed and doing such a mighty work for the Lord. I’m down here in Corpus Christi Texas. God bless. Thank again.
I’m so glad to hear the coloring pages have been a blessing to you, Marcia. I love that you are sharing them with your friends in the nursing home. We used to visit Corpus regularly while my husband’s grandparents were still alive. They met, married, and lived there until they passed.

Just wanted to thank you for the colouring pages you’ve made available.
Due to the social restrictions currently in place it has been necessary to have our church services online and at home (as it is everywhere). It was great to have something relevant to today’s sermon to print for the children to work on while listening. All of my older children (aged 7- 14) were thoroughly engaged by the “look at the birds” colouring page and continued to work on them after the service (the 16month old was happy with a blank piece of paper, but what can you expect!?!)
Anyway, I just wanted to encourage you and let you know that your work is appreciated all the way over here in Queensland, Australia.

I thought I responded to your message when it first came in, but found it still buried in my inbox this morning with no sign I had. Sorry about that. I wanted you to know that it made my day to hear a family in Australia was coloring one of my printables together! I hope you are all getting along, despite the prolonged quarantine. Texas is slowly opening up again. I’m praying for your family today and hoping your lives regain a sense of normalcy soon, as well.
