Tracking Progress on Daily Goals

Progress Tracking Chart

I’ve been using Mondays to clear out my inbox. This week’s featured email prompted me to create a new printable for tracking progress on daily goals.

Monday Mailbag Q&A

Question: Don’t you just love maintaining success streaks?

Hi, Jennifer.

I just printed several of your year-at-a-glance calendars to go with Money Saving Mom’s Make Over Your Morning eClass. I’m going to be recording things like water and vegetable intake, exercise, reading fiction and nonfiction, up by 7, devotions, etc. I think seeing the streaks are going to be very helpful, and I’m glad the calendars are little. Alejandra Costello gave me the idea originally.

Thanks for making these available!
Karissa

Answer: Yes, I do! And this free printable chart makes doing that easier.

Hi, Karissa.

I love that idea, too. I agree that it’s very motivating to see all those streaks going across the page. In fact, I created a chart for myself this summer that lets me record my progress on a bunch of different goals, all on one page. Want to try it out? You can download a generic version of my chartbelow:

You can use it as a calendar and mark off each date you meet each specific goal, but I use mine more like a bar graph, so that at the end of the month I can see at a glance how many math lessons I taught, days I exercised, blog posts I wrote, loads of laundry I washed, etc. Here’s what my chart looks like:

As you can see, I included everyday chores (like laundry, meal prep, and homeschooling) along with personal goals (like exercise, writing, and weight loss). That helps me make certain I don’t sacrifice one to achieve the other. And it serves as a reminder, when progress seems slow, that I actually am getting a lot accomplished.

Since tomorrow marks the first day of a new month — and comes right at the beginning of a new school year — I thought today would be the perfect time to post such a chart, in case other readers would like to join us on this journey. I wish you every success in working toward your goals and establishing healthy habits!
