A Giveaway You Won’t Want to Miss!

I love the look of Scripture verses and colorful murals painted directly upon the walls of a home, so I’ve added such finishing touches to every house our family has ever lived in.

Guests who visit our home (or see pictures of it on our blogs) have often commented on this lettering. “Where did you get that?” they want to know.

I can almost see the gears turning in their heads as they contemplate the different things they’d like to put on their own walls, their eyes alight with all the possibilities.

But as soon as I admit that I painted the verses freehand, that light is quickly extinguished.

“It’s really not that hard,” I assure them.

Then I describe how I mark the walls with masking tape (using a level to keep things straight), draw guidelines first in pencil (very lightly), then paint with a flat artist’s brush dipped in black enamel, working top to bottom and left to right so as not to smear my work. The projects take anywhere from several hours to several days to complete — and my arms get extremely tired in the process — but I’ve always thought the results were worth it.

Still, these details are enough to discourage even my craftier friends. “I could never do that,” they pine. “I’d be afraid to even try.”

You can imagine my delight, then, when the folks at WiseDecor contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of their products on my blog. Just one look through their catalog, and I knew all my artsy-but-time-pressed friends were going to love it. Here is the very thing they’d been looking for!

I had the privilege of choosing any product I wanted out of their catalogue to try it for myself. This is the one I picked:

Psalm 37:4 - "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Isn’t that lovely? It took all of five minutes to apply (most of which was spent tracking down my masking tape, as these little boys of mine are bad about borrowing it and not putting it back).

All the tools you need for transferring the vinyl lettering to you wall are included with your purchase, with the exception of a couple of pieces of tape for positioning and holding the paper backing in place until the transfer is complete.

Decorating your walls with words, the easy way...

I like the fact that there is no clear border around these designs — just smooth, crisp lettering which adheres directly to the surface of your wall. Depending on the font you choose, these verses can really take on that handpainted appearance, but completely without the hassle factor.

Here’s a little “family” decal they included with my order, as a bonus surprise. I was able to experiment with this little project before tackling the big one:

As you can see, I got the word a little off-center to begin with, so I added the “is forever” with a sharpie to balance it out a bit. And if I ever get tired of this arrangement and decide to redecorate, the vinyl decal is completely removable. (Not so, the sharpie. 🙁 )

Now for the giveaway! WiseDecor has graciously offered a $50 gift certificate, good for any of the wall decals in their catalog — or design a custom project of your own. Complete any (or all) of the rafflecopter tasks below to enter:
