To Train Up a Child

One of the most practical child-rearing books we've read is Michael and Debi Pearl's To Train Up A Child. It is short and to the point: Biblical child training takes wisdom, consistency, and a load of self-discipline on the part of parents. I re-read this book every couple of years — about the time my current youngest begins to walk. It serves as a convicting reminder of the importance of my being lovingly consistent in requiring obedience from my little ones. Our entire household is happier and more relaxed when Mom and Dad apply the Scriptural principles described in this trusty little book.
