These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens…" Taking a cue from Rogers and Hammerstein, I've devoted this section to a few of our favorite things. Follow the links that interest you most. Maybe some of our favorites are your favorites already… or maybe they will be soon!
Favorite Books -
One of our family's favorite places to congregate is our home library, surrounded by wall-to-wall bookcases, stretching floor to ceiling. We love to read. Follow the links to learn which books are our favorites, and why.
Favorite Links -
Here's a smattering of websites we found to be helpful for one reason or another. We hope they'll bless your family, as well.
Favorite Quotes -
I've kept a running list of meaningful quotes since middle school. Here are a few of my favorites, grouped by subject.
Favorite Recipes -
Nothing calls back memories of home as quickly as savory smells from the kitchen. When my children leave the nest, I want them all to take with them the aroma of minestrone soup simmering on the stove top, banana bread baking in the oven, hot ham and cheese bubbling under the broiler. Home cooking doesn't have to take long to be tasty. Here's a smattering of some of our favorite quick and easy recipes.
Favorite Restaurants -
Specifically, these are restaurants where kids eat free, which is a huge plus in our book! Long gone are the days we could feed our little family-of-five all the pizza we could eat for six dollars and eleven cents - total! We now have as many adults in the family as we do children-under-12 (which work well for places that have a limit of one free kid's meal per adult meal purchased - and still a significant savings).
Favorite Videos Clips -
Here are a couple of humorous video clips we found on You-Tube and couldn't resist sharing. They're short, so click through and enjoy a good belly-laugh.
Favorite Web Stores -
Save on gas by shopping on-line. We've added links to some of our favorite merchants for our own family's convenience, but we'd be delighted if you clicked through, too!
